Homeopathy supports;

Homeopathy, and a note on gut-friendly foods, plus healthy habits to support you!

To support your body while taking Homeopathic remedies, it is good to provide nutritional and gut friendly foods. The recovery of body does like gut and brain health in all aspects.

You may have cravings that help indicate a particular set of remedies due to what is happening overall. If a dry constitution, remedies that gently support moisture balance are good. If sweats, acids, or fats are desirable, other different remedies will support. Or a combination of these desires will show another set of remedies. It is all part of finding the unique combination relating to your overall health.

If ingesting much of any foods in excess it will be eliminated or not, depending on other factors like stress, emotional distress, accumulated effects of medications, supplements, or ongoing pain or disability. A healthy body can clean out toxins well, when everything is functioning in homeostasis. Homeopathy supports you overall, including your elimination process, in a holistic and gentle fashion. A mild and nutritious diet can also provide support at this time.

Hahnemann often recommended mild and vegetable rich soups while some of his patients took the recommended remedies. As a homeopath who takes and uses remedies for a largish family, I would say our American diet isn’t always supportive, and supplements often create another concentrated stress. Hahnemann had some great ideas!

For example, a concentrated amount of white and packaged carbs and/or much dairy may cause an over abundance of sugars in our gut, excess mucus, and more coughs and colds for some.

In general, excess sugars are not easy to digest, take a toll on our stress levels, our pancreas, and can cause mental fatigue or sluggishness or both. I’m not saying to drop these completely, but reducing them may benefit your homeopathic remedies while they work.

Likewise, large amounts of red meat, protein supplements, caffeine, and sugary items are more difficult to process for many, especially when going through changes. These may be taxing to the liver, creating higher heat symptoms.

Though protein is also important, there are times I agree with Hahnemannian style - some good vegetable soups ( yes, with bone broths) and a small amount of healthy meat and whole grains, may be most mild and supportive at these changing times.

Additionally, gut-friendly foods like prebiotic and probiotics to support each other are scientifically known to be beneficial too. One cannot be digested without the other. In moderation, both pre and probiotics in our foods, contribute to a healthy gut, and therefore healthy bowels, mouth health, skin, a healthy mood, and mental energy.

In this home, we often have plain or honey yogurt, milk kefir, and homemade spelt bread, quinoa, and brown rice, as well as brown, red, or black beans in small portions to keep our gut flora happy. We also make soup about once per week. (I’m thinking of increasing soups in my home, as I write.)

However, it’s not all about diet. Your home environment matters too. Are you able to get enough rest? Do you have the emotional and physical support needed to keep up with your workload? If not, consider seeking ways at home to support these or reduce the demands.

Sometimes it may feel there is nothing you can do. Maybe, taking Mini-breaks for mental clarity may help. One example is a 5-10 min. red light therapy, in my evening routine, brings me to a restful state more easily and quickly, after a busy and active day. Reducing stuff in my life is an ongoing process, that aids me with clarity, and is a work in progress. And a warm bath or shower is good too.

A night routine that is calmer, with less screen time or more wind-down time, is always good. Enough sunshine, movement, and energy breaks can make a difference too. (Not overextending, over exercising, or over-sitting -These tend to harm). Each person is somewhat different here, with different abilities and needs. Watch your energy, what helps and what detracts from your energy throughout the day?

Finally try not to sweat the small stuff. If you don’t get it right, eat all the bad things, don’t get proper sleep, don’t worry. It’s not the whole story. Keep returning to what your body is saying, sometimes improvement is slow but sure.
